the Pianocktail 1.0

Version française

ThePianocktail is a collection of flash animations creating music. (Click on the keyboard to see the Pianocktail.)
The name Pianocktail is taken from Boris Vian's book "l'écume des jours" about a musical machine to make cocktails:
....
- A chaque note, dit Colin, je fais correspondre un alcool, une liqueur ou un aromate. La pédale forte correspond à l'œuf battu et la pédale faible à la glace. Pour l'eau de Seltz , il faut un trille dans le registre des aigus.
....

Help :

The Pianocktail has 13 levels of animation.
You are taken to the different levels by clicking the concerned number  .
The color of the level number change        and a lign shows you on wich level you are.
When you will choose an other level, the red number   will remind you the visited levels.

On each level you can trigger sounds by clicking on the keyboard.

You can also use the following letters on the computer keyboard (lowercase) :

q z s e d f t g y h u j k
to play
c c# d d# e f f# g g# a a# b c 1

The record button     allows you to record played tones on the keyboard.
You can stop recording by clicking the stop button   .
You will be able to listen to the melody by clicking the play button   .

Here and there songs are hidden inside the level.

The 12th level is a little bit special. It offers a sound mixer.
You have to choose the instrument you want to play then click a number button to play a melody   .
To stop the sound, you will have to click the instrument button    .
To stop all the instruments, you can use the panic button     .
You can randomly trigger a sound from each instrument by clicking the random button    .

New :

The 13th level allows you to record a melody on the server, to be able to retrieve it later.
Like the other levels you will find a keyboard and the buttons to temporary work out a melody.
There are also new elements:
Numbers show you the active melody and how many tunes are available from the server.
The right button   gets you the the next record.
The left button  gets you to the previous record.

The name   shows the author of the melody.
The play button    let you hear the melody.
The record button (desactivated)   gets you to the record mode.
Be aware that on this mode, you can no longer use the computer keyboard to trigger sounds.
Once activated, the record button looks like this .
The computer is ready .
Each tone activated is temporary recorded.
The silence button    allows you to record a silence one tone long.
It is yet possible to hear the melody before being written on the server by clicking the play button .
If not wanted, the melody is ignored by clicking the no record button  .
You will have to give a name or avatar     for your tune.
(Missing name or missing melody shows an alert.)
At last you can save your melody on the server by clicking the record button next to your name  .
The melody is saved on the server, and the record mode goes off.
Thank you for your contribution !
